We’ve all heard the saying, “drastic times call for drastic measures.” Unfortunately, that applies for the good and the bad. In these times where newspaper sales are plummeting and they’re having a difficult time surviving, one CEO has found a way to make a profit.
Borrowing a page from patent trolls, the CEO of fledgling Las Vegas-based Righthaven has begun buying out the copyrights to newspaper content for the sole purpose of suing blogs and websites that re-post those articles without permission. And he says he’s making money.
