daily shower cleaner.
One of the mundane, household jobs that we all hate to do is clean the shower and/or bathtub. The invention of the daily shower cleaners has certainly made cleaning the bathroom a much more pleasant task. These cleaners are often expensive. Here’s how you can make your own at a fraction of the cost.
First of all, you will need a container to put it in. This recipe contains hydrogen peroxide, so I suggest using a bottle that is not clear. I used a bottle I had from a daily shower cleaner I had purchased previously. Also, since this recipe contains hydrogen peroxide, you should only make one bottle at a time.
We have been using this recipe for about a month. It seems to work as well as the stuff we were buying at the store. We have a fiberglass shower, so I searched long and hard to find a recipe that did not have vinegar in it. If you have a porcelain tub with tile, you may be able to use a vinegar/water solution.
Daily Shower Cleaner
1/2 cup rubbing alcohol
1/2 cup hydrogen peroxide
Squirt of Dawn dishwashing liquid
2 teaspoons Jet Dry (you can get a generic brand for 1/2 the price)
2 cups water
Use a funnel to pour the contents into your bottle, swoosh, and you’re done.
This recipe does have an overwhelming alcohol odor when sprayed on the shower, but it quickly dissipates. I used some scented Dawn and it did help with the odor. You could experiment with fragrances if you like that sort of thing.
