President Obama will be speaking to millions of school children across the nation on Tuesday, September 8. “What’s this all about?” you might ask.
Obama’s speech is the typical pep talk we all give our kids: stay in school, work hard, make good grades except that he tries to put a guilt trip on the kids by telling them that what they’re learning in school today will determine the future of our country.
What you make of your education will decide nothing less than the future of this country. What you’re learning in school today will determine whether we as a nation can meet our greatest challenges in the future.
The question now becomes, “What are our children learning in schools?” I just happened to catch a program on the Fox News Channel this weekend called Do You Know What Textbooks Your Children are Really Reading. If this determines our future, we’re in a lot of trouble. Fortunately, well over 11% of school children are not attending government schools.
